BASEBALL SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH WORCESTER STATE

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL., March 19, 2007 - Elms College junior pitcher Ted Roback (Manchester, CT) gave up two earned runs on five hits and picked up his first win of the season to highlight the Blazers' split of Monday's non-conference baseball doubleheader with Worcester State at the Port Charlotte Invitational.

The Blazers (1-2) earned a 5-2 victory in game one behind Roback's 6.1 inning performance on the mound. The win was highlighted by a four-run, fourth inning.

Worcester State (3-3) sophomore pitcher Mike Borowiec (Spencer, MA) surrendered just two runs on five hits and struck out 12 in a seven inning effort to lift the Lancers to an 8-2 victory in game two.

Elms College returns to non-conference action on Monday, March 19, against Eckerd College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
