PARKER NAMED INTERIM FIELD HOCKEY COACH
CHICOPEE, MA, July 16, 2007 - Elms
College Director of Athletics Louise McCleary
recently announced the hiring of Jacquelyn Parker
as interim field hockey coach for the 2007 season.
Coach Parker, a three-year starting goalkeeper and two-time Second Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) selection at New England College, will serve in place of sixth-year head coach Katie Grabiec, who is currently on maternity leave.
During her three-year field hockey playing career at New England College, Coach Parker recorded a 43-13 record between the pipes and helped lead the Pilgrims to three consecutive CCC championships and three straight berths in the NCAA Division III Championship.
"I am extremely pleased with the hiring of Jackie as our interim field hockey coach," McCleary said. "As a former player at one New England's top Division III schools, she will bring a wealth of experience to the position."
Coach Parker, who also played three seasons of both ice hockey
and women's lacrosse for the Pilgrims, earned a bachelor's degree
in psychology with a minor in sport and recreation management from
New England College.
